Marketing Agency Plan B Provides Precision Design For New Peridot Corporation Web Site
Silicon Valley’s Peridot Corporation is a quality leader in precision manufacturing, laser machining, CNC turning and medical device assembly. As it happens, the San Francisco office of Chicago-based marketing agency Plan B is known for its precision focus on web design, search engine optimization (SEO) and social web marketing.
With their end products marvels of micro-miniature engineering, Peridot wanted their new web site to reflect the same intricate craftsmanship — where even the smallest “I”s are dotted. So the Plan B Chicago headquarters and Silicon Valley team worked together to launch a highly advanced web site for Peridot that reflects the company’s capabilities.
Using “you are there” videos of their multiple processes, specialized equipment and expert staff, prospective clients can quickly grasp Peridot’s qualifications and sense its passion for innovation. One intriguing video produced by Plan B, “A Day In The Life,” has been frequently viewed by non-engineers via the Plan B Advertising YouTube channel.
Plan B developed the web site to provide two paths for visitors: one for manufacturers interested in components, and one for medical firms interested in microscopic devices. The site design parallels the creative themes of the targeted direct mail, email and B2B print advertising campaigns that Plan B manages for Peridot, and blends high-level content with Web 2.0 impact in keeping with the Plan B credo, “Where Tradition and Technology Find Balance.”

Peridot enhances our capabilities with new Mori Seiki Model NL-2000 CNC Multi Axis Mill/Turn Center
The newest addition to our ever-expanding tool collection is among the most impressive yet: a Mori Seiki Model NL-2000 CNC Multi Axis Mill/Turn Center. With a 20-station tool turret and highly rigid construction, this baby can handle jobs requiring multiple CNC processes with amazing precision and efficiency.
The low-vibration, low-noise construction increases cutting depth and feed rates, and reduces cycle times by up to 50%. The digital tailstock controls both position and thrust, cutting set-up time in half. And special heat-minimizing features virtually eliminate the effects of heat on machining operations.
This machine will allow us to handle even more complex jobs, faster and more accurately than ever.
Facilities Expansion
Peridot outgrew its old facilities and underwent a complete facilities renovation and expansion in spring of 2008. By expanding the current facilities from 18,000 sq. ft. to 30,000 sq. ft., Peridot is now able to consolidate their operations in one facility, as well as relocate their Class 10K clean room to the expanded facilities.
The expansion presents Peridot with an opportunity to optimize workflow and processes, and Peridot hired consultants to determine this optimization. In addition to offering the market more capabilities, the expansion may also allow Peridot the luxury of dedicated customer-specific assembly areas.
Peridot did not close at all during the renovation and expansion.
The renovation and expansion was completed in the spring of 2008, and Peridot moved into the updated facilities in early summer.
